CoSpaces Edu cares about data privacy and security and is proud to provide a secure learning environment to students.

We’re a global platform, which is why we follow various standards, such as COPPA, FERPA, Ed Law 2D and GDPR, and have taken the Student Privacy Pledge.

Data privacy & security

CoSpaces Edu takes student privacy very seriously. We have several measures in place to make sure that the data that you and your students store in CoSpaces Edu is always kept safe.

Your data is encrypted both for transmission and storage

Multiple distributed servers also ensure highest possible levels of uptime and restorations in a timely manner.

SSL security for safe transmission of your data and AES-256-GCM for data at rest.

Your user data is stored and backed up in geographically distributed servers operated by industry leading partners.

Access to your personally identifiable information is restricted to specific employees only.

We do yearly security audits and monitoring to ensure security and system integrity.

Passwords are salted and hashed using PBKDF2.

All employees undergo a background check and sign a non-disclosure agreement before beginning their employment with us.

When terminated, employees lose access to all company and product systems and data.

Content moderation

Our Support team moderates user-generated content to ensure it aligns with educational standards and safety guidelines.

Any content that goes against these guidelines is removed by our team.

Students aren’t able to create content without the permission and supervision of their teachers.

Student creation happens either through an assignment or in a class Playground opened by a teacher.
